The first success of this drive has been the ADNOC (Abu Dhabi National Oil Company) adopting the LEED volume program on their Temporary Guest House project, the construction of 8 Guest House buildings, B1, B2, B3, B4, B5, B6, B7 and B8.

The project is located in Ruwais, Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. The whole development consisted of 8 Guest House buildings, a mosque, an amenity center and service blocks which would serve as an accommodation facility for ADNOC staff and guests. The Master Developer, DuBox(formerly Amana Concrete Modular Construction (CMC) – Al Shamekh Precast Products Industrial Co. LLC), was the developer of this project

The Client, ADNOC desired that to achieve LEED certification of the 8 Guest House Buildings in their development. These Guest Houses consisted of 8 typical buildings; 3 floors each with a total gross floor area of 106,772 square feet per building. Three Guest House buildings in this project (B1, B2, and B3) were completed in April 2016 and the remaining five buildings were completed in August 2016.

To assist the Client in taking the project to successful LEED Silver Certification, DuBoxengaged theservices of Sustainability Consultant – Green Technologies. Due to DuBox’s zeal and drive in attaining their sustainability goals, along with Green Technologies’ passion to deliver the project to the highest level of sustainability certification, the team were able to successfully upgrade the level of certification to LEED ‘Gold’ from initially targeted Silver level.

In April 2016, the U.S. Green Building Council awarded the ADNOC Temporary Guest House B1, B2, and B3, the LEED Gold certification under the under the Bespoke Volume program 2009 for New Construction rating system from the U.S Green Building Council.

For the remaining Guest Houses, B4, B5, B6, B7 and B8, the U.S. Green Building Council awarded the LEED Gold certification in September 2016.
