Green Technologies Presents at TRANE Technical Seminar

Immediately following Sheikh Mohammed's announcement that all new buildings in Dubai must be designed in accordance with 'Green Building' principles, Trane, the world's leading provider of indoor comfort systems, hosted a technical seminar focusing on the critical contribution that air-conditioning plays in our lives, our workplaces and the environment. The seminar was held on the 31st of October, at the Le Meridien Hotel with the goal of providing attendees with a practical summary of the significant role that air conditioning and ventilation systems play in delivering comfortable, productive indoor environments that comply with the Green Building and LEED concepts.

Mr. Mario Seneviratne (Founder & Secretary to the Board, Emirates Green Building Council, and Director, Green Technologies), as Guest Speaker, provided an in-depth review of the Green Building movement in the UAE citing Trane's significant contribution to a number of energy efficient projects. At the conclusion of his presentation, he was presented with a crystal model of a Trane CenTraVac chiller for his services to the Green Building movement. The choice of gift was very appropriate as the subject chiller had recently received the Best of the Best award from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency.

"Energy Efficiency and Indoor Air Quality of HVAC systems contribute significantly to certified Green buildings" said Michel Farah, director of Trane Commercial Systems in the UAE and Gulf. "That's why it's critical for businesses like Trane to support the Green Building initiative".

Among the technical presenters were Mr. Don Eppelheimer (Senior Application Engineer of Trane U.S.A), Mr. Sai Srikanth (Trane Controls Leader for the U.A.E & Gulf) and Mr. Peter Blanchflower (Marketing Director of Trane Middle East, African & India region).
