Emirates Green Building Council Inducted into the
World Green Building Council at 6th International Congress

The 6th International Congress of the World Green Building Council (WGBC) was held in Monterrey, Mexico from the 29th to the 31st of October 2006. It also coincided with 1st International Sustainable Building Conference and Exposition hosted by the Green Building Council of Mexico.

The Emirates Green Building Council (EGBC) was represented at the Congress by Founder / Vice Chairman, Dr. Sadek Owainati and Founder / Secretary to the Board, Mr. Mario Seneviratne. The 6th International Congress marked the induction of the Emirates Green Building Council into the WGBC.
The World Green Building Council is a union of national councils whose mission is to accelerate the transformation of the global property industry towards sustainability. Collectively, these nations represent over 50% of the global construction activity, and touch more than eight thousand companies and organizations worldwide. WGBC members are leading the movement that is globalizing environmentally and socially responsible building practices. Its objective is to rapidly build an international coalition that represents the entire global property industry.
