Project Scope: | • Detailed Design • Feasibility/ ROI Analysis • Equipment Selection • Tender Documents • Electrical Power Supply Assessment • 30% of peak cooling load through solar power • Incorporated a Solar Collector utilizing CSP with solar tracking. • Thermal Storage Tanks |
Green Technologies researched the feasibility of implementing a Solar Cooling System in the U.A.E and prepared a detailed design and tender for project execution, based on the results.
The design strategy involved the retrofit of an existing system to supply 30% of the peak cooling load (1000TR capacity) by solar power means.
Green Technologies performed the detailed analysis, calculations and design of this system, including sizing and selection of a suitable solar thermal collector utilising concentrated solar power (CSP) and specifying a 300 TR capacity Absorption Chiller with associated Condenser Water Plant and equipment.
The engineering and implementation of the CSP System should be carried out by a Specialist Supply and Contracting firm with a proven track record of high quality implementation internationally.

The resultant design was compared with an equivalent traditional system running centrifugal chillers alone and was estimated to be saving 20% of Energy compared to a conventional Chilled Water System.
Such a system has tremendous potential for District Cooling Providers where a CSP Cooling System could be implemented as a peak shaving solution.
