Energy Modeling Workshops
WHOLE BUILDING SIMULATION USING eQUEST REQUIRED FOR LEED, ESTIDAMA AND QSAS COMPLIANCE
Target Participants:
- Energy Simulators modeling for LEED®, ASHRAE, Estidama and GSAS
- New users of eQuest
Workshop Learning Objectives:
- Energy Modeling as an Essential Design Tool.
- Understand the capabilities of the DOE2.2
- Create a building model using a wizard-template for inputs and switching a detailed edit mode to refine the model with design details creating a baseline to work with and analyze.
- Setting up Thermal Zones, Exterior and Internal Load input to establish a performance baseline.
- Learn input strategies for basic HVAC systems.
Optional Day 2 Workshop Learning Objectives: (Day 1 is Pre-Requisite)
- Simulation to perform compliance analysis and comparison with baseline building.
- Perform system ECMs (Energy Conservation Measures) for increased energy savings and alternative simulation strategy (LEED Compliance will be discussed).
- Work with basic DOE2.2 reports to verify integrity of simulation results.
- Understand how to evaluate results and perform Quality Control checks for “realistic” data.
- Discussion on selected case studies
Participant Requirements:
- Personal Laptop with Windows OS (Mac OS is not workable) and a mouse. We will help with the installation of eQuest v. 3.64 .
- Fees: $900 for Day 1 and $1400 for both days.
