Riyadh And Jeddah Campus Research Buildings, Kingdom Of Saudi Arabia
The Riyadh and Jeddah Campus Research Buildings are a part of an institution that is among the leading healthcare institutions in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The mission of the institutions are to provide medical services of highly specialized nature and to promote medical research and education programs, including postgraduate education training. The Research Centre focuses on basic and translational research, primarily in cancer, cardiovascular diseases, transplant immunology, genetics, molecular diagnostics and proteomics. The Riyadh and Jeddah Campus Research Buildings have a built-up area of 33,202 sqm and 10,570 sqm, respectively.
Green Technologies was tasked to address the LEED Enhanced Commissioning Requirements pertaining to the Energy and Atmosphere Credit 3. The task comprises providing Enhanced Commissioning Services in reference to the energy related systems such as Heating, Ventilating, Air-conditioning and Refrigeration systems, Lighting and Lighting Controls, Domestic Hot Water Systems, Renewable Energy Systems and the Building Façade. The commissioning tasks includes conducting a Commissioning Design Review prior to mid-construction documents, developing and implementing a commissioning plan, reviewing contractor submittals applicable to systems being commissioned, verifying the installation and performance of commissioned systems, providing LEED documentation on performance commissioned system, LEED documentation on system manual and LEED documentation on training, developing a Commissioning Report and reviewing building operation within 10 months after substantial completion.
In September 2015, both the Riyadh and Jeddah Campus Research Buildings were awarded of LEED Gold certification under USGBC’s LEED NC v2.2 rating system.
