Description:

A 685 unit employee housing project, located at the Shams Al-Riyadh site, 615 villas will be LEED for Homes certified as single-family detached housing units. Phase 1 of the Project which is currently ongoing includes mosques, schools, shopping centers, sports and recreation clubs and parking areas and is scheduled to be completed in September 2016.
Some of the unique features of the Project site include the infrastructure and communal landscaping along with the restoration of the Wadi Hanifa, which passes through the complex.
Sabic’s brainchild behind the Project has been to impact on productivity and innovation for the company to help achieve its vision at the local, regional and global levels.
Green Technologies, in partnership with SOL Design and Consulting (GT-SOL), the LEED Consultants on the Al Waseel Hills Project, together with Sabic Project Team and the Main Contractor, J&P participated in a LEED Charette in April’14 where it was discussed and agreed that the Project will be is targeting ‘Silver’ level certification under LEED for Homes (International Pilot Version v2008). A pre-assessment and gap analysis conducted by GT-SOL indicated that the Project is most likely to achieve this Target LEED Certification level.
