Dubai World Trade Center Chiller Plant Retrofit 2013

The DWTC together with the pool of experienced and excellent engineering team upgraded the Chilled Water Plant at the Sheikh Rashid Tower. The plant systems are as old as the building itself which already reached its equipment’s useful life of more than 30 years. This 39 storey building is air conditioned using (4) four water cooled centrifugal chillers. These chillers have been in operation since its inception. This serves both the Dubai Financial Market and the tower.

Description:

The Dubai World Trade Center district includes an array of building types. One of them is the Sheikh Rashid Tower which hosts a number of business and leisure units including Embassies, Consulates and a fine dining restaurant. Being known as the first high rise building or tower in the Middle East, It now serves as a landmark to both residents and as well as tourists.
The work involved replacement of old chillers with an ultra efficient chillers adopting high-tech controls and monitoring systems. These new chillers snugly fit the existing plant room and use the existing power supply capacity of the building. It replaced the old condenser water system which included the replacement of cooling towers and condenser water pumps to a new and practical and more functional location. This undertaking was executed with very minimal to no interruption on the current operation of the building.
